Who is FunaRide?
FunaRide (U) LTD is a transport solutions provider and owns a Car sharing App called FunaRide.
It helps to connect both private and public vehicle drivers to passengers that fit in their travel schedule heading to the same direction.
- Many people tend to crowd on stages waiting for public transport creating chaos to enter a few available ones. This applies to both taxis and buses especially at peek hours like morning and evening or peek seasons like Christmas, Back to School seasons etc.
- With the emerging of Covid19 pandemic, it became so risky to move with public means and difficult to observe SOPs hence increasing the spread of Corona virus. This necessitated innovative solutions that could help to avoid crowding and have passengers book lifts and Buses ahead of time to avoid crowding at the onboarding stations or be picked by private car owners from their origin
- As a result, FunaRide App provides a solution that helps to minimize contact, encourage social distancing, use of face masks and sanitization by encouraging all App users adhere to the guidelines
- FunaRide App works in a way that a private car driver will post his planned journey and the App will help connect him to available passengers within his location that have scheduled trips along the same direction. The passenger is encouraged to use the cashless option of payment to avoid physical payment
- Yet still for public transport companies that have a fleet of cars, will post their travel schedules and these will be available to the passengers to book those that fit in the schedule as per his/her choice. A passenger will be able to book and pay ahead of time with the cashless option
With FunaRide APP, we strongly believe avoiding/reducing congestion and following of SOPs will come in handy and a long way in fighting COVID19, organizing and streamlining the transport sector in Uganda.
